Yarn Braids (Genie Locs)

A first ever for this momma...

We attempted yarn braids. I am content with the results, even though I need to learn how to adequately get the extension part closer to the scalp. I did NOT time myself, purposely, because I didn't want to think "Oh man, I'm on hour SEVEN?"...but we did it off and on all afternoon and into the evening.

She was SO happy with the results and LOVED swinging her hair around everywhere. She kept laughing and laughing.

Daddy think's it's...different, to put it nice.

We'll see what my black friends say to get the real verdict.

I hope it lasts at least a couple of weeks.

    1. I am in the middle of my first attempt at yarn twists. I think they are easier to get closer to the scalp due to the way that the twist pushes against itself (hard to explain). I found the instructions really confusing but once I got started it all made sense. I also read that beads on the ends make the extensions fall and swoosh better. And my girls love them. :) Just an idea.
