No Tears, no Tears over there (and an ET christmas)

First year ever where there were NO tears shed during the annual photo with Santa.

But, then again, after we've seen him a couple of different times at other events, certain members of the family are a bit hesitant.

(Lily totally runs for him each and every time she catches site of him!)

So in the last week we had SIX christmas parties. The boyscout party, 4 different class parties (4 kids, duh!) and then our Ethiopian/ET Adoptive family community party. All 4 class parties were on the same day. The littles got out early and it ended with a visit with santa (see above), then we whipped on over to the biggie's school to go to their parties. I piled the littles on the Sit n' Stand stroller and we would go to one party for a bit, then haul down toward an alternate hallway to go to another party for a little bit. You would think that I had legs of steel, but I'm finding that age is fighting that one.

Our Et party had about 75 attendees and it was about half of adoptive families and half of local ET immigrants. A group of children from the Ethiopian Orthodox church came and sang for us...that was very special. The party was in an Ethiopian restaurant and we were able to visit with a variety of people as well as friends. SO excited that several of the Ethiopian-American adults have taken a special interest in the adoptees and helping them (and us) retain their culture. We missed the cooking class that was held a while back, but there is one soon that an Et salon owner will be doing on hair...how fun!
